| I would never have or recommend an abortion. However, I acknowledge that others feel differently and current law reflects that. I would work for more integrated counseling so girls aren't making the decision at home, alone - deciding which clinic to go to is tantamount to making your decision in most cities. With proper support I think women would more frequently choose to carry to term and infertile couples could adopt. Adoption laws need to better support the adoptive parents and child. I would recommend seeking parental consent with stringent protocols in the event the mother's life is in danger. | |||

| The early release of prisioners is desiged to lop off the last nine months of a sentence and to provide treatment for them in the community during the show. The goal is to decrease recidivism (going back to jail). This plan is solid and should realize cost savings as well. I would only consider mandatory furloughs and layoffs as a last resort. Privatizing certain aspects of government service should be done carefully only when there is a cost savings and the quality of the work is taken into consideration. | |||

I do support some charter schools to target special student populations but not too many which may dilute the regular schools. I am all for college aid to encourage higher education. The immigrants' question is tough. Without higher education they are more likely to remail on aid lists. If they go (because they can afford in state tuition) they may be taking a US citizen's seat. | |||

| My top priority is to represent the taxpayers, not a party or special iterest. I want to bring fresh perspecives and ideas to help carry NH forward throught the remainder of the recession. I do not intend to institute an income tax - that is a lie by my opponent. With so much opposition to the tax it is just a mental exercise, but a full examination of the tax burden borne by our elderly and the under- and unemployed will help to identify new solutions. |
